March 13
Depart from Cleveland, Ohio, on a 9:45pm Aer Lingus flight.
March 14
Arrive in Dublin at 8:45am. Enjoy a panoramic city tour of Dublin, then go tour Malahide Castle and Gardens and then visit nearby Howth, a lovely little fishing village on the outskirts of Dublin. Check in to historic Iveagh Garden Hotel in the heart of town, and then you can explore on your own before our Welcome Dinner at the hotel. (D)
March 15
This is a day of leisure, exploring, shopping, music. Your Enrichment Travel rep and the hotel concierge will be there if you’d like any assistance. Some of your options include a Hop-On Hop-Off City Tour, a walk to Trinity College, Ireland’s oldest university, where you can stroll the historic campus and perhaps get a ticket to see the ancient Book of Kells—an exquisite 9th-century manuscript housed in the stunning Long Room Library. Visit Temple Bar, the lively entertainment district. Walk across the Ha’Penny Bridge, tour the General Post Office where the Easter Uprising began in 1916. This afternoon, continue exploring Dublin’s rich history with a visit to Dublin Castle, once the seat of British rule in Ireland and now a vibrant government and cultural complex. Afterward, step into the Chester Beatty Library, tucked within the castle grounds and home to a remarkable collection of global manuscripts, art, and rare books. Shop and enjoy the street musicians on Grafton Street and have a relaxing walk through St. Stephen’s Green. Dine at your choice of many nearby restaurants. (B)
March 16
Breakfast at the hotel, then we take a day trip to Kilkenny to visit the imposing Kilkenny Castle. The Ohio State Band is planning to perform at the castle today. Time for lunch on your own and exploring medieval Kilkenny. We return to Iveagh Garden, and the evening is at your leisure. (B)
March 17
The parade begins at noon and lasts around 2 hours. The end of the parade route is a very short walk from our Hotel. You are free to explore the city and watch the parade from wherever you like.
If you want grandstand seating, tickets are approximately $160 while supplies last, and the seats are some distance from our hotel. More than 95% of the people watching the parade are not paying for seats.
After the parade we will meet at the hotel and head to Kinnitty Castle for our stay in a castle hotel with a royal feast. (B,D)
March 18
After breakfast at the castle, we depart for Killarney, travel across the heart of Ireland to the Cliffs of Moher, followed by seeing the moonscape of the Burren. We’ll then head south and cross the Shannon on the Tarbet ferry, and on to Killarney. Check-in for 3 nights the at Randles Hotel at the edge of town and next to the Killarney National Park. Our group dinner is at the hotel. (B,D)
March 19
Take in the breathtaking beauty of the Dingle Peninsula as we journey along one of Ireland’s most scenic routes, with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, rolling green hills, and charming coastal villages. We’ll stop for photo opportunities along Slea Head Drive, where dramatic cliffs and ancient stone huts dot the landscape. Enjoy free time to explore Dingle town, known for its colorful harbor, artisan shops, and cozy pubs. You can grab lunch on your own at one of the many seafood cafés or traditional Irish spots. Later, return to Killarney with the evening at your leisure. You may choose to relax at the hotel, dine in town, or join an optional group dinner at a local restaurant featuring live traditional music. (B)
March 20
Today is yours to enjoy the charm and natural beauty of Killarney at your own pace. Nestled at the edge of Killarney National Park, the town offers easy access to walking trails, lakeside views, and historic sites. You might choose to visit Muckross House and Gardens, take a horse-drawn jaunting car ride to Ross Castle, or browse the local shops and cafés in town.
March 21
Depart Killarney this morning and enjoy a scenic drive through County Limerick, passing by rolling farmland and quiet countryside. Along the way, we’ll stop in Adare, often called Ireland’s prettiest village, known for its thatched cottages, stone churches, and lovely boutique shops. Take time to stroll the charming main street and enjoy lunch on your own at one of the inviting cafés or pubs. In the afternoon, we’ll continue toward Dublin, arriving at the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport, with time to repack, reflect on the trip, and enjoy a Farewell Dinner at the hotel. (B,D)
March 22
We’ll check out of our hotel and spend a half day in Dublin. Arrive at the airport at 1pm for our 4pm flight, then do security and US Passport Control, so we don’t have to do that when we land in Cleveland this evening at 8:15pm. The flight includes dinner. (B)
