Itinerary for the Matt Murphy Golf Tour of Ireland September 16-25, 2025
Tuesday Sept 16 - Depart Nashville at 6:40 pm for overnight direct flights to Dublin with dinner and light breakfast service. Try to get some sleep!!
Wednesday Sept 17 - We will arrive in Dublin this morning at 8:45 am and board our bus and meet our driver/guide. We will start our day with a panoramic tour of Dublin stopping at the iconic Guinness Storehouse. We will go behind the gates at the home of the black stuff to savor the sights, sounds, tastes and aromas of Guinness. You'll have time to shop, get lunch on your own and enjoy a free pint at the Gravity Bar that offers breathtaking 360 degree views of Dublin. Next we will settle into our bus for a drive to the west coast of Ireland stopping along the way in Adare, one of the prettiest villages on the Emerald Isle and home to Adare Manor which will host the Ryder Cup in 2027. We will arrive in Killarney this evening and settle into our lovely hotel for the next four nights. We will enjoy a welcome reception in the bar before our relaxing welcome dinner together. We will head to bed for a good night's sleep to be ready for our first day of golf tomorrow. (D)
Thursday Sept 18 - If this is your first time to Ireland - prepare yourself for the Irish breakfast, an experience you won't soon forget! Our golf course today, the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club, is a short drive from our hotel. You will have the entire day to play golf. Killarney Golf & Fishing Club is one of Ireland’s most prestigious and historic golf clubs. Located in Killarney National Park, surrounded by the lakes of Lough Leane, the course is a Six-Time host venue to the Irish Open and home to two 18-hole championship courses. Without a doubt, a world-class destination, and winner of the IGTOA Parkland Course of the Year for 2024. Ladies, experience a wonderful day in Killarney while your partners are out on the golf course. Treat yourself to a soothing spa treatment of your choice. Afterwards, take your time exploring the picturesque streets of town, bustling with charming pubs and shops. This evening you will be on your own to experience Killarney’s nightlife and the many options for dinner. (B)
Friday Sept 19 - Today we will embark on one of Europe's most scenic drives today as we explore the breathtaking Ring of Kerry. This journey will reveal stunning coastlines, captivating overlooks, and rich Irish traditions. We'll pause for lunch in Waterville, renowned for its prestigious golf course, before visiting the Kells Sheepdog Farm and the charming Kerry Bog Village. Later in the afternoon we will stop at the Red Fox Inn where you can savor an Irish coffee and refreshments. Tonight enjoy a free evening to soak in the local culture whether it's at a lively pub or on the dance floor with the locals at the Gleneagle Ballroom - a favorite activity with all of our groups! Saturday Sept 20 - After breakfast, get your kisser puckered up and hop on the bus. We are heading to Blarney Castle to kiss one of the most famous rocks on the planet. Yep, you will have the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone and receive the gift of eloquence, or blarney, or BS (Blarney Stone ;-) Should we let Matt kiss it??? You’ll have time to wander the grounds of this famous castle, get lunch on your own and enjoy the shopping at historic Blarney Woolen Mills, originally built in 1823 to spin and weave wool, where you can browse and purchase many Irish brands including Waterford Crystal, Avoca and Branigan Weavers. And don't worry, all of your treasures can be shipped home right from the store, free of charge! Next we will depart for Cork City, Ireland's vibrant second largest city, famous for its rich arts scene, culture, and delicious food. Enjoy a stroll through the picturesque streets, check out the historic churches, and explore the lively English Market. As the day comes to a close, we'll gather at a bustling pub for a delightful group dinner, where the atmosphere will invite us to sing and dance the night away! (B, D))
Sunday Sept 21 - We'll continue our exciting journey as we pack up and hit the road! Our first stop is the iconic Rock of Cashel, where you'll have free time to explore the ancient town of Brian Boru at the base of this majestic fortress. Enjoy lunch on your own at one of the charming traditional pubs before we continue our adventure back to Dublin. Once there, you have the option to join an organized tour or stroll through the busy streets of Ireland's capital, rich in Viking history along the River Liffey. Don't miss the iconic Temple Bar nestled in the cobblestone streets of the city's entertainment district. After dinner on your own in Dublin, we will board our private coach and depart Dublin for check in at our hotel for two nights - The K Club, a 5-star hotel and golf resort known for its luxury accommodations, world class golf courses and spa! Monday Sept 22 - Welcome to The K Club, where relaxation and recreation blend seamlessly. After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, golfers can indulge in a full day on one of Ireland's premier golf courses, featuring 18 stunning holes. Meanwhile, ladies can unwind at the spa, the Emerald Isle's third largest, offering a variety of luxurious treatments. As the day comes to a close, we will gather for dinner at The Palmer Restaurant, a sophisticated dining experience that showcases the best of Irish produce while overlooking the Palmer North golf course. Tuesday Sept 23 - Prepare for another amazing day of golf at the stunning Portmarnock Golf Club, a championship links course just outside Dublin, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and challenging holes. Ladies, we will depart for a delightful excursion to Malahide, where you'll enjoy a guided tour of the historic Malahide Castle, dating back to the 12th century and home to the Talbot family for nearly 800 years. Explore the enchanting Walled Botanical Gardens, the Butterfly House, and the lush woodlands, followed by some leisure time in the charming village of Malahide with its quaint shops and cafés. We can also visit nearby Howth with its scenic harbor, shops, plus a view of the Irish Sea from the top of Howth Head. After our adventures, we’ll unwind at the luxurious 5-star Radisson nearby where we will check in for two nights before heading to Taylor's Three Rock for an evening of traditional Irish entertainment and dinner. Wednesday Sept 24 - For an unforgettable last day in Ireland, we will journey into the stunning Wicklow Mountains arriving at the prestigious Powerscourt Estate. While the golfers enjoy their final rounds at the renowned Powerscourt Golf Club, the ladies can indulge in luxurious treatments at Powerscourt Springs health and wellness farm. We’ll also visit the breathtaking Glendalough, a glacial valley of two lakes steeped in history and famous for its 6th century monastic site. As the day comes to a close, we’ll gather for a memorable farewell dinner at a premier restaurant in Dublin, celebrating our incredible week together. (B, D)
Thursday Sept 25 - Before our journey homeward, enjoy your final Irish breakfast. We will depart for Dublin Airport at 10 am to arrive in plenty of time to go through Irish security and US Pre-Clearance so we will land in Nashville as a domestic flight. You will have ample opportunity for last minute shopping in the duty-free airport shops where your items will be brought to the gate for you. Our nonstop Aer Lingus flight departs at 2:00 pm and arrives back at BNA just after 5:00 pm. (B)
