Itinerary for the Matt Murphy Golf Tour of Ireland April 8-17, 2027
Thursday April 8 - Depart Nashville for overnight direct flights to Dublin with dinner and light breakfast service. Try to get some sleep!!
Friday April 9 - Upon arrival at Dublin Airport, your group will be warmly welcomed and privately transferred to St. Helen’s Hotel, an elegant and comfortable base for your first night in Ireland. Following time to relax and refresh, enjoy a privately guided exploration of Dublin city including Trinity College Library Book of Kells Experience, Jameson Whiskey Distillery and Christchurch Cathedral. There will also be time to stroll along Grafton Street, browse its boutiques, and enjoy the atmosphere of St. Stephen’s Green. The evening concludes with our welcome dinner at your hotel, providing a wonderful introduction to Irish hospitality. (D)
Saturday April 10 - If this is your first time to Ireland - prepare yourself for the Irish breakfast, an experience you won't soon forget!
After breakfast, we will travel into County Wicklow, Ireland’s Garden County, for your first round of golf at Powerscourt Golf Club.
Set against spectacular mountain scenery, Powerscourt offers one of Ireland’s finest parkland golf experiences. Non golfers will enoy the Powerscourt Estate Experience, Cullen's Sheep Farm where you will be able to hold baby lambs and see life on a family farm. While the golfers are still on the course, the ladies will visit Avoca Weavers where you may browse the lovely, locally made products, see the handweaving mill in action and shop. The evening continues with an authentic Irish Hooley Night at Johnnie Fox’s Pub featuring traditional music, Irish dancing, entertainment and hospitality. (B, D)
Sunday April 11 - Dublin to Killarney via Adare
Today we will journey south through Ireland’s countryside with a stop in Adare, one of Ireland’s prettiest villages and future host of the 2027 Ryder Cup. Continue to Killarney and check into the historic Great Southern Hotel where you will have time to settle in before exploring Killarney National Park in a horse drawn jaunting cart. Your cart driver, known as a "jarvey" will provide a witty commentary to the rhythm of the "clip clop" of the horses as you keep warm in the cart with provided blankets to view iconic sites such as the majestic Ross Castle, Muckross Abbey and Lough Leane. You may explore the vibrant town of Killarney and have dinner on your own at one of the fine restaurants or pubs a short walk from our hotel or in the hotel itself. (B)
Monday April 12 - Following breakfast, guests travel to the legendary Old Course at Ballybunion Golf Club. Consistently ranked among the finest links courses in the world, Ballybunion delivers a spectacular golfing experience along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic coastline. Towering dunes, rolling fairways, and dramatic ocean views create an unforgettable setting. Accompanied by experienced local caddies, players gain valuable insight into the strategy and heritage of this iconic championship layout. Following the round, there is time to relax in the clubhouse before returning to Killarney. Ladies will spend the day in Dingle, a charming, colorful seaside village filled with shops, pubs, cafes and scenic views. This evening, guests enjoy a hosted dining experience featuring excellent local cuisine and warm Irish hospitality. (B, D)
Tuesday April 13 - Today is devoted to exploring the world-famous Ring of Kerry. Traveling through one of Europe’s most spectacular coastal regions, guests experience an ever-changing landscape of rugged mountains, charming villages, dramatic coastlines, and panoramic Atlantic views. Highlights include Waterville, Caherdaniel, Sneem, and Kenmare, together with views of Skellig Michael rising dramatically from the Atlantic Ocean where scenes from Star Wars were filmed. The route continues through Moll’s Gap and Ladies View before entering Killarney National Park, home to the Lakes of Killarney and Torc Waterfall. Numerous opportunities for photography and sightseeing make this one of the most memorable touring days of the program. You will be free to get dinner on your own with many options just steps from our hotel. (B)
Wednesday April 14 - Following breakfast, guests travel to Tralee Golf Links. Designed by Arnold Palmer and widely regarded as one of the finest links courses in the world, Tralee occupies a breathtaking position along the Atlantic coastline. Towering dunes, cliff-top greens, and sweeping ocean vistas combine to create a truly memorable golfing experience. Non-golfers will enjoy a spa day and afternoon tea at The Great Southern - an incredible rejuvenating experience to be sure. The evening features another hosted dinner as guests reflect on their experiences in southwest Ireland and free time this evening to explore the charming and vibrant town of Killarney from our city center hotel. Thursday April 15 - This morning guests enjoy an early round at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, one of Ireland’s most scenic championship parkland courses. Beautifully situated on the shores of Lough Leane and framed by the Macgillycuddy's Reeks mountain range, the course offers a wonderful contrast to the rugged links golf experienced earlier in the week. Renowned for its immaculate presentation and spectacular setting, Killarney provides a rewarding and enjoyable golfing experience for players of all abilities. After our activities today we will pack up and head back to Dublin. We will make a stop at the iconic Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland's most renowned historic sites. Guests will have time to go up to the Rock, explore the town and have some dinner on your own before we travel to Dublin and check back into St. Helen's Hotel for our final 2 nights. (B)
Friday April 16 - Depart St. Helen's Hotel for a memorable day exploring two of Ireland's most celebrated heritage destinations. Visit Kilkenny City and Kilkenny Castle, with time to explore the medieval streets, boutiques and historic surroundings. On return to Dublin, continue to the Irish National Stud & Gardens in Co Kildare. Guests will enjoy seeing the horses and participating in the Irish Race Horse Experience where guests may choose a horse and engage with every aspect of training for the big race! Our farewell dinner back at St. Helen's will give us time to reflect on Ireland’s world-class golf courses, remarkable landscapes, rich heritage, and legendary hospitality. (B, D)
Saturday April 17 - Following breakfast, guests will transfer privately to Dublin Airport for their afternoon return journey home. We will arrive 3 hours before our departure time to allow guests to go through US Preclearance, shop for any last minute gifts and enjoy a relaxing direct flight home. You will arrive back to the United States as a domestic flight with no customs to clear in Nashville and memories to last a lifetime!
