June 5 - Depart your home city for overnight flights, with dinner and light breakfast service.

June 6 - Arrive in Dublin this morning and board our bus and meet our driver/guide. We will enjoy a panoramic Dublin tour to see Christchurch Cathedral, the General Post Office - scene of the Easter Uprising, St. Stephen’s Green, and much more, ending up at Ireland’s top at attraction, the Guinness Storehouse, for on-your-own lunch and tour topped by an included pint at the Gravity Bar with sweeping views of Dublin and the Dublin Mountains. Our next stop will be a tour of the magnificent St. Patrick’s Cathedral, an 800 year old church constructed on the site of an ancient well, supposedly used by St. Patrick himself.  We will check into our Dublin hotel and settle in before our welcome dinner. (D)

June 7 - After a traditional Irish breakfast, we will head west to board a replica Viking ship and cruise down the River Shannon to the 6th century monastic settlement of Clonmacnoise. You will have time to explore the ruins before we return to our coach and head toward our destination.  When we arrive in Westport we will check into our hotel for the next 3 nights - the Clew Bay Hotel which is the hub of the Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival. We’ll enjoy a welcome reception and group dinner with music afterwards. (B,D)

June 8 - Morning excursion to tour Westport House, ancestral home site of Grace O’Malley, the famous Pirate Queen, who built one of her castles here in the 1500s. Her dungeon still remains in this magnificent Palladian mansion which was built in 1730 by her descendants. We will pass Croagh Patrick, the mountain that St. Patrick climbed and fasted on for 40 days and banished the snakes from Ireland. Then on to an Irish farm to see a sheepdog demonstration, enjoy some farm fare, music, turf-cutting and more. Back later this afternoon to check out the festival, find a great place for dinner and then concerts this evening. (B)

June 9 - Morning excursion to cruise in beautiful Clew Bay with its more than 300 islands and home to a seal colony with over 400 harbor seals. We’ll sail into the habitat and watch for these majestic animals. Festival activities this afternoon, followed by the Festival Finale concert this evening. (B)

June 10 - This morning you can sleep in after a late night of music. After breakfast we will pack our bags and head north along the Wild Atlantic Way.  Enjoy the breathtaking scenery as we drive up to Sligo where we will stop for a late lunch in one of Ireland’s favorite foodie towns.  We will continue north into Donegal where we will spend 2 nights at a lovely seaside resort.  (B)

June 11 - Today we will visit the nearby Sliabh Liag (Slieve League), the highest sea cliffs in Europe along Donegal’s rugged coast line.  Hike to the top and take in the incredible views - a shuttle will take us up to the viewing point.  Before we head back to our hotel, we will stop in Donegal Town and give you time to shop and explore the home of Donegal tweed.  This evening we will enjoy a group dinner in our hotel. (B,D)

June 12 - Pack up and we will head cross-country.  As we head back toward Dublin, we will stop for lunch in Cavan and go through the town of Trim where Braveheart was filmed at Trim Castle.  We will have our farewell dinner in our city center hotel in the heart of Temple Bar and then give you the last evening to enjoy the nightlife in Dublin just steps from our hotel. (B,D)

June 13 - After breakfast, we’ll shuttle to Dublin Airport to be at our flights 3 hours before departure to check in, do U.S. Pre-Clearance, duty free shopping and ready for take-off. Flights arrive in the U.S. later today.

Guests who book their own air departing earlier can have transportation arranged from our hotel.
