June 5 - Depart your home city for overnight flights, with dinner and light breakfast service.

June 6 - Arrive in Dublin this morning and board our bus and meet our driver/guide. We will enjoy a panoramic Dublin tour to see Christchurch Cathedral, the General Post Office - scene of the Easter Uprising, St. Stephen’s Green, and much more, ending up at Ireland’s top at attraction, the Guinness Storehouse, for on-your-own lunch and tour topped by an included pint at the Gravity Bar with sweeping views of Dublin and the Dublin Mountains. We will check into our Dublin hotel and settle in before our welcome dinner. (D)

June 7 - After a traditional Irish breakfast, we will head west to board a replica Viking ship and cruise down the River Shannon to the 6th century monastic settlement of Clonmacnoise. You will have time to explore the ruins before we return to our coach and head toward our destination. When we arrive in Westport we will check into our hotel for the next 3 nights right in the center of this popular and charming town. We’ll enjoy our group dinner with Festival Concert afterwards. (B,D)

June 8 - Today we will have a morning excursion to an Irish farm to see a sheepdog demonstration, enjoy some farm fare, turf-cutting and more. Next we will tour Westport House, ancestral home site of Grace O’Malley, the famous Pirate Queen, who built one of her castles here in the 1500s. Her dungeon still remains in this magnificent Palladian mansion which was built in 1730 by her descendants. We will stop at Croagh Patrick, the mountain that St. Patrick climbed and fasted on for 40 days and banished the snakes from Ireland. Across the street is the National Famine Memorial. Then we'll take a cruise in beautiful Clew Bay with its more than 300 islands and home to a seal colony with over 400 harbor seals. When we get back you can explore the town and check out some music at one of the local pubs after our group dinner. (B, D)

June 9 - Today is a fun day of leisure or activities right in Westport. You can choose to relax and explore, or attend one or more special events, including the music festival Gospel Hour at 11:30 a.m., a concert at 12:30 p.m. by rising American bluegrass star Martha Spencer, followed by a Square Dance at 4:30 p.m. Do what you like and we'll see you at dinner, followed by more wonderful music this evening, or just relax and enjoy the town. (B, D)

June 10 - After breakfast we will pack our bags and head north along the Wild Atlantic Way. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery as we drive up to Sligo where we will stop for lunch in one of Ireland’s favorite foodie towns. We will continue north into Donegal where we will spend 2 nights at a lovely seaside resort. (B)

June 11 - Today we will visit the nearby Sliabh Liag (Slieve League), the highest sea cliffs in Europe along Donegal’s rugged coast line.  Hike to the top and take in the incredible views - a shuttle will take us up to the viewing point. Before we head back to our hotel, we will stop in Donegal Town and give you time to shop and explore the home of Donegal tweed.  This evening we will enjoy dinner in our hotel. (B)

June 12 - Pack up and we will head cross-country. As we head back toward Dublin, we will stop for lunch in Cavan and go through the town of Trim where Braveheart was filmed at Trim Castle. For our final night, we will settle into a lovely family run country house hotel near the airport to enjoy some warm Irish hospitality. (B)

June 13 - After breakfast, it will be easy to get taxis (on your own) the short distance to Dublin Airport.  Be sure to be at the airport 3 hours before departure to check in, do U.S. Pre-Clearance, duty free shopping and be ready for take-off. Flights arrive in the U.S. later today.
