Friday April 19 - Depart Chicago (or your home city) for overnight flights to Dublin with dinner and light breakfast service.

,

Saturday April 20 -  We’ll all arrive in Dublin this morning and board our bus and meet our driver/guide. We go back in time at nearby Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, a stunning medieval castle and folk village. Then it’s a stop at Quin Abbey, ruins of a 15th century Franciscan Friary built by the MacNamara Clan. This afternoon we will settle into our lovely hotel in the charming town of Ennis with some free time to unpack and explore the town. We will gather in the hotel pub for a welcome reception, followed by our welcome dinner. (B,D)

Sunday April 21 - After a full Irish breakfast, we board our bus and head for the west coast of County Clare to the quaint village of Doolin where we will take a ferry to visit the famous Cliffs of Moher, towering 600 feet above the Atlantic. Have you seen the movie The Princess Bride? You may recognize the Cliffs of Insanity. As…you….wish…. We will have a group lunch in Doolin, then off to explore the unique moonscape of The Burren. After our adventures we will head back to Ennis for dinner on your own and a traditional Irish music session where Éamonn is sure to have you dancing the night away. (B, L)

Monday April 22 - Depart Ennis and head through Limerick and then Adare, one of the prettiest towns in Ireland with thatch roof cottages and the stunning Adare Manor. Onward to County Kerry and the seaside town of Dingle on the rugged Dingle Peninsula. We will take a panoramic tour of Tralee, home of the Rose of Tralee Festival, then check in this afternoon at our Killarney hotel for a two-night stay.  (B,D)

Tuesday April 23 - We begin our excursion around the Ring of Kerry, one of the world’s most scenic drives, with stops along the way, including one at a farm to see a sheepdog demonstration. We’ll find some music and dancing in a traditional Irish pub in lively Killarney. (B)

Wednesday April 24 - After breakfast, we leave Killarney and go to kiss the most famous rock in Ireland - The Blarney Stone! Climb the stairs at ancient Blarney Castle for an incredible view and a chance to receive the gift of blarney. We will have free time for lunch on your own and excellent Irish goods shopping at Blarney Woolen Mills before going to Eamonn’s home village of Carrigaline, where he can show us around and stop at his “local.” We’ll settle into our hotel in central Cork, and Eamonn will give us a walking tour of Cork: the Old English Market, St. Finbarr’s Cathedral, the Coal Quay, plus a rest at Clancy’s Pub down the street from our hotel. Then free time to explore. (B)

Thursday April 25 - Today we take a drive down to the Cobh Heritage Centre to experience Ireland’s most important port of emigration and the last stop of the Titanic. Learn about the emigrants who departed from Cobh, many in search of a new life in a land of opportunity, and many who departed involuntarily as convicts. We will take a short ferry ride to Spike Island - the Alcatraz of Ireland -  and discover 1,300 years of unique history. This afternoon Eamonn will take us to some breathtaking, non-tourist areas of County Cork before heading back to our Cork hotel for a group dinner. (B,D)
